Taoyuan is one of Taiwan鈥檚 most prominent and successful cities in baseball development.
From elementary through high school, Taoyuan鈥檚 teams have consistently excelled in national tournaments. At the professional level, the city hosts three adult teams. The Rakuten Monkeys, in particular, have won the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) championship seven times before 2024 and introduced Korean-style cheering culture, creating a dynamic, passionate stadium atmosphere. These achievements, built from the ground up, have laid a strong foundation and made Taoyuan鈥檚 progress in baseball truly remarkable.

To welcome the upcoming 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) and support the Rakuten Monkeys, the Taoyuan Cultural Foundation is organizing this exhibition.
Echoing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of 鈥淕ood Health and Well-Being,鈥� it encourages the continued growth of baseball culture and sports participation in Taoyuan. With a rare focus on sports, the exhibition reimagines the static nature of traditional displays, offering a more engaging and diverse cultural experience.

The exhibition explores the history of baseball in Taiwan and Taoyuan, highlights the stories of teams and players, and extends to the spirited fan culture.
On display are key artifacts from the WBC, Premier12 tournaments, and world championship trophies, celebrating Taoyuan鈥檚 baseball legacy. The exhibition space is designed to capture the passion, energy, and collective dreams inspired by baseball as a national sport. Through the use of lighting, sound effects, multimedia installations, and interactive technology, the exhibition offers an immersive experience full of movement, pride, and atmosphere. Visitors enter through a simulation of Rakuten Taoyuan Stadium, engage in fun challenges like pitching and batting games, or sit in the announcer鈥檚 seat to simulate a live game broadcast. The entire exhibition is interwoven with rich audiovisual content, including player-specific cheer songs, coach interviews, and replays of classic game moments. Live events such as fan meetings and cheer-dance workshops further connect audiences to the spirit of the sport. Through deeper understanding, emotional engagement, and hands-on interaction, visitors are invited to experience firsthand the passion and vitality that baseball brings.
