Starting with a soft earthy tone, the entire space slowly unfolds like the first light of dawn. A calm, steady, and reassuring atmosphere flows effortlessly before your eyes. The project is a residential design catering to an extended family, with the homeowner entrusting the space to the designer, guided solely by the principles of "simplicity, efficient storage, and comfort." The designer naturally centered the concept around pristine "white," adding subtle layers on top of its clean foundation, ensuring the space not only retains ample open, unadorned areas but also possesses a playful charm that embodies the warmth and rhythm of daily life for a family of five.
At the entrance, a bold, expressive floral painting greets visitors like a blossoming welcome, infusing the overall soft color palette with vibrant energy. The open kitchen seamlessly integrates with a bar counter that aligns with the dining table to form the core of family togetherness. This counter not only bridges the cooking and dining functions but also extends into a multifunctional space for meal preparation, appliances, and display, serving as a dual visual and circulation focal point.
In the relatively narrow, elongated social area, the designer softened the structural lines and alleviated the sense of confinement by incorporating a cantilevered TV console, curved edge treatments, and rounded detailing on the ceiling. Both the TV wall and the area behind the sofa are adorned with artistic paint featuring a matte finish that reveals natural stone-like textures and subtle metallic sparkles. These details, handcrafted by an artist through layered techniques, exude an organic, effortless charm.
The children’s room is designed with future flexibility in mind, with wall surfaces clad in writable, magnet-friendly melamine board that transforms into a playful canvas, inviting creative expression.
